Studio - Static Designs

Studio is where everything comes to life. Although both static and dynamic designs can be used in Boutique, added to your website, or simply shared via a link to receive orders, Studio offers a set of options tailored to each type of design.

You’ll find features that are specific to static models and others that are exclusive to configurators. For example, material assignment is handled directly for static designs, whereas in configurators, this process is automated. Similarly, stock management by SKU is a feature designed only for dynamic models.

Next, let’s focus on how to make the most of Studio when working with static models.

Static designs

Let’s remember that static designs are simply 3D models uploaded in formats such as Rhino, RhinoArtisan, RhinoGold, Matrix, MatrixGold, GLB, or even STL. Creating a static design is as easy as uploading any of these files to the platform.

As you’ll see, when you open a static model in Studio, it will appear completely white, since no materials have been applied yet. That’s why the first step is to apply materials so your model looks impressive. But before we get started, let’s quickly review the interface, which is designed to be clear and simple, allowing you to work productively from the very beginning.

On the right, you’ll find all the visualization tools: materials, metals, gemstones, environments, backgrounds, shadows, and advanced settings. We’ll go into detail on each of these options later.

In the center, you have the main toolbar, where you can manage all the essential information and actions for your model, such as editing details, saving changes, sharing views, or exporting images, videos, and interactive links. Thanks to this layout, you can share and present your designs in a dynamic and professional way, making it easy to communicate and collaborate with clients and your team.

Applying Materials

Applying materials to your model is a simple and visual process. Just select the part of the model you want to apply a material to—the selected area will turn orange so you can easily identify it. Then, simply click on the material you want.

The first option you’ll see is metal materials. By default, polished metals are displayed, but you have a wide range of finishes available to explore and apply, depending on the effect you want to achieve.

You’ll also notice that metals are available in different tones, so you can adjust each material to perfectly match your vision.

Assigning gemstones is just as easy. Select the main gemstone in your model and, from the gemstones materials section, choose the one you prefer; in this example, we’ll choose Ruby for the main gemstones and use diamonds for the rest. Just like with metals, you’ll find several versions of the same gemstone. If you use the search tool and look for "Ruby," you’ll see up to four different options, each with its own unique characteristics and finishes.

A useful tip: Connect automatically groups objects based on the layers in your model. This is designed to make your work much easier!

All done! Your design is now ready to impress the world. See how easy and fun the process was? Just imagine everything you can create and share from here on out.

Branding with Backgrounds

Now let’s talk about the background color. This feature is perfect for giving your design that final touch and adapting it to your company’s branding. You’ll find endless options available, and you can even set different colors for the top and inner parts of the background. This way, you can personalize the presentation of your models down to the last detail.

We’ll discuss the other options—such as environments, shadows, lighting, and advanced effects—in the next section.
