The Ring Resizer tool allows users to adjust the size of a ring design while maintaining its proportions and design integrity. This tool streamlines the resizing process, ensuring accuracy and preserving critical details such as gem settings, engravings, and overall symmetry.
We will find three different panels in this command.
The selection panel
By clicking on this icon, we will be prompted to select the entire ring design.
We will find below the selection panel the Finger Size panel
We can change here from which ring sizze we are going to develop the copies with larger or smaller sizes.
The Mode determines whether the design is resized uniformly or variably. If Variable mode is selected, a gumball will appear in the viewport, allowing us to choose the area of the design to remain unchanged. The rest of the design will then adapt to the new finger size. This is especially useful for preserving the setting areas of the design.
We can choose to organize the output of different ring sizes within a Layer system, stacked sequentially, or export them as STL files, ready for printing, to a specified folder.
The Alignment option lets us center the output in the front view or align it on the plane.
The Angle parameter adjusts the angle of the selected portion of the design when using the Variable Mode.
Target Ring Size panel allows us to select the different sizes we want to create from the original ring.
We can select here the sizes we need the output to be by checking the boxes of the different sizes listed.
Once the command is accepted, the selected sizes are saved for future adjustments on other models, thereby automating the resizing process.
In the Ref tab we can define if we want to add a tag inside of the ring so we can easily identify the pieces after the printing. We can include on the a name or a reference as well.
The last tab allows us to add a sprue at the bottom of the design if needed. We can define all the parameters in this tab, including the portion that we need the sprue intersects with the shank of the ring.
